About Daavision

More than 10 years Daavision

Daavision already exists for more than 10 years. Below you can read, in a chronological order, how Daavision evolved to a professional organisation with its own production facility and customers all over the world.

2003 - 2005

2003 - The idea

The idea arose in 2003 at the attic room of Buis Ebbinge in Wageningen. Buis then works for a company that manufactures agricultural additives. He notes an increasing demand from Eastern Europe for products which are nog included in the company’s portfolio. Together with his good friend Ejal Heijman, with whom he practises Ashihara Karate, they decide to start a new company in order to serve this market. Both have a full-time job at that time and therefore the business plan is written in the evening hours.

2004 - Officially registered

On the 6th of April 2004 Daavision is officially registered at the Chamber of Commerce. "Da"means "yes" in Russian and "D.A.A." stands for 'Dutch Agricultural Additives'. The attic room of Buis is getting to small for the business and a larger space is rented above the sports hall in Wageningen. That's where the trade in agricultural feed additives to Eastern Europe starts.

2005 - Trade registration

It soon turns out that the export to Eastern Europe is dependent on several noninfluential factors. Russia is struggling with the bird flu in 2005 and the registration of products is taking longer than expected. This complicates the trade in feed additives and alternatives are sought. Daavision starts selling soy flour and protein. The entire bank balance is used to finance a single order. In addition, Daavision also mediates in the export of heifers to Russia and trades bull-sperm.

2006 – Daavision grows

The borders to Eastern Europe have reopened and the main products are registred. in the field of organic acids Daavision is growing rapidly, especially in Russia. The emphasis is on products from organic acids and toxinbinders. Sales increases steadily and almost all other trading products and services are no longer supported.

2007 – The plan

Daavision has the ambition to become a producer of organic acid mixtures. Buis and Ejal call in the help of Arjan de Ruyter. Arjan was involved in the construction of two other organic acid factories. Soon the trio began designing the factory, searching for a location and writing a business plan. In 2007 the bank approved to fund the plan.

A suitable location is found at the Lekstraat in Oss, the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Pieter van der Meer joined the team and lend a helping hand in the construction of the factory. On the 31st of July 2008 all certificates and permits are arranged and Daavision is allowed to produce organic acid mixtures. The construction of the plant progresses and the first testruns are done in September. In November 2008 the first orders are produced.

2009 - 2011

2009 – The first production run

The first year in which Daavision is an independent producer of organic mixtures. It becomes so busy that help is needed for aiding with the logistic administration. Daavision succeeds in establishing it’s name in the Eastern European market. Daavision also eagerly searches for a new distinctive product.

2010 – Lauric acid

2010 – Lauric acid

In 2010 Daavision is the first company to succeed in making a pure form of lauric acid, which remains stable as an easy processable powder; even at lower temperatures. By adding 90% pure Glycerol Monolaurate (GML90) to this, a product is formed which can be absorbed by the animal even quicker and which contains even higher antibacterial properties. The launch of the product Daafit Plus leads to an enormous growth in turnover.

2011 – The second period of growth

Feed producers are also looking for a product with lauric acid. For that reason Daafit is introduced into the market; a pure form of lauric acid and GML90, without the mixture of short chain fatty acid which are included in the Daafit Plus. In the mean time the growth in sales has made an extension in the work team necessary; in the factory and in the logistic, sales and finance departments.

2012 - 2014

2012 – The robot

2012 – The robot

With the new products in the portfolio and the growing sales outlet (over 25 countries), the production of dry products can barely keep up. Daavision therefore installs a production robot.
In this year Daavision has another innovative first, by being the first company that launches a product with lauric acid and GML90, which can be dosed through the drinking water; the Daafit Aqua.

2013 – Daavision grows again

In 2013 Daavision’s turnover grows with more than 50% compared to the previous year! Russia is still a very important market, but other markets like the Netherlands and France develop rapidly. Meanwhile, the Daavision products have reached more than 30 countries. This results in an increasing demand on the labor and more and more employees are necessary to keep the workload at an acceptable level.

2014 – From 2 to 20 people

On the 6th of April 2014 Daavision exists for 10 years! Not only the turnover, but also the number of people working for Daavision rises to 20. Furthermore, the production location is extended in 2014. Right next to the existing production hall, an adjoining new hall will be included for the production. Daavision also renews and fine-tunes its vision and mission. This leads to the new pay-off:
